Kendall E. Matthews

Who is Kendall Matthews?

I’m an executive marketing leader with more than 15 years of experience across cybersecurity, SaaS, eCommerce, and AI automation. My work connects product marketing, go-to-market strategy, demand generation, team leadership, and marketing operations to measurable business outcomes.

I’ve held leadership positions including Vice President of Global Marketing, Head of Marketing, and Global Campaigns & Product Marketing Director.

Across my career, I’ve built marketing teams, owned budgets, and led work across regions and functions. That experience spans technical product launches, customer acquisition, conversion, and the operations that support marketing execution.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Purdue University. My background also includes serving as president of the Purdue Alumni Club of Phoenix and participating in Toastmasters International. I’ve received three American Marketing Association Spectrum Awards, recognizing work in branding and corporate identity, marketing campaign reporting, and persona development.

Today, I apply OpenAI technologies, including ChatGPT, custom Skills, and Codex, to research, analysis, messaging evaluation, and AI workflow design. I also use Google Workspace and Gemini for communication, collaboration, research, and marketing execution. These tools support the work of connecting strategy, business operations, and team effectiveness.

Over time, I expanded that foundation through practical experience in business operations, sales, technology, and marketing leadership.

What connects these experiences is how I approach a business problem. I look at the customers, the revenue opportunity, the people doing the work, and the processes and technology supporting them. Then I focus on the decisions and actions most likely to produce a meaningful result.

HOW I THINK

Start with the decision, not the tool.

A lead-generation problem may begin with positioning. A marketing problem may actually be a follow-up problem. An AI opportunity may be a workflow problem. A technology purchase may add cost without fixing the constraint that made the team start shopping in the first place.

That is why I look across the whole business system: customer needs, revenue, people, process, technology, and evidence. The goal is to find the shortest responsible path to a better outcome.

Sometimes that means improving the marketing. Sometimes it means changing a process or clarifying who owns the work. Sometimes technology can help.

When technology is the right next step, I help businesses evaluate and source the infrastructure and services they need through my technology partnerships, with implementation and ongoing support provided by the selected providers.

Sometimes the right decision is to keep what you already have.

MY APPROACH

Learn. Apply. Transform.

My operating philosophy is simple: learn enough to understand the problem and make a responsible decision. Apply the smallest complete change that can produce useful evidence. Transform the process only after experience shows the improvement deserves to become repeatable.

LearnUnderstand what matters before adding complexity.
ApplyPut the smallest complete intervention into real work.
TransformMake it repeatable only after the evidence earns it.

Go build the proof. A strategy is still an assumption until someone puts it to work. A good idea becomes more valuable when execution produces evidence that makes the next decision better.

How Kendall Matthews Thinks

I approach business challenges by looking beyond symptoms to understand the systems behind them. I connect customer needs, strategy, people, technology, and operations to identify what matters most. Then I turn those insights into practical action, measure the results, and use what I learn to improve the next decision.

I work with executive teams, established business owners, brands, and business partners when the problem, audience, expertise, and opportunity fit. Discuss an executive growth, business technology, or partnership opportunity on LinkedIn →
